Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of manufacturing, while balancing lead times and unexpected delays
ORI Systems is a robotic furniture company that optimizes the use of small spaces with transformable furniture and architecture.
An aesthetic emblem embedded in the control unit for a luxury robotic furniture system.
ORI Systems had very strict design requirements for their metallic badge which featured the company logo, placed upon their systems controller. Due to the way in which they had specified their design requirements, the part had to go through 4 distinct manufacturing processes, including precision machining and hand finishing processes.
ORI Systems turned to MACABITech to optimize the design and source the part through our extensive network of manufacturers.
ORI System’s challenging design requirements were first scrutinized to determine manufacturing processes that could be used to meet their product vision. Precise machining, anodizing, and a hand-applied brushed finish paired with the final laser-etched logo delivered an emblem which embodied ORI System’s luxury requirements.
Once the logo design was complete, MACABItech identified a manufacturing facility that could be used to produce small batch runs of this boutique item. MACABItech mizmixed the throughput of work while minimizing scrappage rates by developing a straightforward and effective manufacturing workflow.
